We did our spring Adopt-A-Highway cleanup last Saturday, and it went
quite well and we were done by Lunch Time. I will post the couple of pictures
I took of the volunteers on the web site soon.

Continuing the topic of possible on-line voting for some type of items on the agenda
due to poor member turn out at meetings, also the idea to skip the monthly meetings
during the winter months.

Also remember you can discuss things about the township at the meetings
as well, and I will carry them onto the township. (I am a township trustee as well)

Venetian Village Civic Association

MAY 2011 News Letter

Greetings to all Venetian Village residents, old and new. For our past existing residents, it's hard time has flown by and many events have happened since our last news letter. For our newer residents, you may not even know that you have a home owners association. If so, let us introduce ourselves through this annual news letter and welcome you to our village.

Meetings, open to all residents _ member or not, are always held on the 1st Thursday of the Month at 7pm in the Village Hall (regardless if a flyer or postcard was sent out). We will send out postcards to our paid members announcing special meetings. We also send out notices in e-mail form to those on our list. To get on our E-mail notification list please, send an e-mail to paul@paulberker.com or include your e-mail address on your annual dues form when you send it in.

Major effort has been made to update our mailing list so that every resident will receive this packet of information containing:

Funds prohibit us from mailing a newsletter every month, so we try to do our best with occasional postcards and our big annual packet that you now are looking at. Unfortunately, along with yearly information, we ask for you to pay your dues as well. For now, this is the most cost-efficient way to accomplish these tasks.

I will attempt to explain some of the things your dues go towards, the biggest bulk of which is maintaining our community property, which consists of the Venetian Village Hall and park surrounding it. (Located at the intersection of San Rem & Capillo) Construction on the Hall was started in 1949 and it was dedicated July 5th, 1953. Utility, insurance, state license & maintenance details are listed in the Income and Expense Statement of the back of this page.

Last year we did a street cleanup of the county roads Granada and Genoa that we sponsor twice a year and the annual Halloween Party for the children at the Hall. In addition, our hall has been maintained to the required specifications to continue being a polling place as well.

(It is important to understand that the Hall is used as a polling location for the convenience of our residents and is not funded by any State or Local agency.)

The Hall is a central focal point for the community. Besides our monthly meetings, the hall is used as polling place for voting, Rentals, Club meetings. Boys Scouts are also using the hall on Tuesday nights. A Girl Scout Troop will shortly also being using the Hall one night a week. Please see the enclosed information on Hall Rentals for more info.
